Ice Cream AND Cheetos...OH MY!!!

I took the girls to the grocery store on Thursday morning and proceeded to buy BOTH ice cream AND Cheetos! :o Oh dear me. We buy ice cream MAYBE twice a year and I have not purchased Cheetos since maybe the 6th grade? I suppose that is what having kids does to you?! :)

We are NOT the type of parents to say that our kids can't drink juice or eat sugary cereal ever. Everything in moderation is fine....I have just never bought so much crap in one shopping trip. Emma and Sophie were thrilled...and in a bit of shock as well. :p

When I told Emma that her serving of Cheetos was DONE for the day she CRIED. (Really hard). Sophie was signing for "more" wildly. Buying this junk food is like kid-crack. Really. :)

This is what our "dessert" normally consists of... THIS is what dessert was tonight... (YEAH BABY!!!!)

Here is the "Cheetos Crack" that brought Emma to tears...
Sophie said "MMMMMM" 3 or 4 times before I snapped this picture! :D
Here are the girls on crack.....
I love these girls SO MUCH!!! :)

Emma's Last Day of School! :D

I took THIS picture on Emma's FIRST DAY of school this year.... She looks SO MUCH younger! :) :(
Here she is! Emma on her LAST DAY of school, sporting her cool flip flops....
What a BIG girl!! :)

AND, she looks SO beautiful...
(Note: Beautiful Mei Mei Sophie is in the back round, too! Sophie was scolded for not holding hands in the parking lot at the grocery store today. She was still pouty when we got to Emma's school....). :(

The girls dancing to Emma's "Classroom Music Mix" before bed...
(Notice that Emma tucks her shirt into her shorts like a 9o year old man-LOL)!

Crazy Moves...

Emma likes to "fix" her barrette...see?

Sophie's New Word... ... ...

I have had a few people ask me if Sophie has picked up any new words lately. Well, as a matter of fact this week she added a new one to her vocabulary: "No, No, No"! (Note: That is not just one "No", but three)! :) It is really quite funny to hear her say it! The first time that she said "No, No, No"! to me was when I tried to lay her down for a nap one afternoon. (She still got the nap). Sophie continues to become more comfortable with us and that said she can be a bit ornery sometimes! Sophie is determined to get her way ALL OF THE TIME; where do you think that she learned the word "no"?! She is a VERY typical two year old! ;) (I am glad).

Can you see the "No, No, No" bubble over Sophie's head about her feelings on sporting the doo-rag? :P

"Wichita Wildlife"

Warning: This post contains ZERO pictures of Emma & Sophie! :0

There have been A LOT of birds hanging around our house lately. Quite frankly it is really starting to freak me out! Everybody who knows me is aware that I am afraid of birds....

Okay, the baby ducks on the OTHER SIDE of the fence are KIND OF cute. They still give me the creeps.

Just Call Us The White Trash Family -or- Call Our Girls Ike & Tina! Part I

So, you are probably wondering WHAT in the heck my title means? Well, it's actually a dual title because both fit this post today. :)

I am referring to us as the "White Trash Family" because THAT is what we looked like when we went outside earlier this afternoon. We decided to go outside to do some yard work and clean our cars while Emma and Sophie played, we did this PRE-showers/baths. So, we all looked a bit grimy. Plus our dogs need to be groomed so they looked pretty homeless too. Oh well, we had a lot of fun anyway! :)

About our girls being Ike and Tina (Turner), that is the name that Greg coined for them this morning. The girls have been picking at each other A LOT this week! Sometimes it is about small things that you can ignore and let them work out... NOT TODAY. Emma had shoved Sophie a few times this morning, & each time Sophie would go right back over by her to play. Greg said that Sophie was behaving like a battered wife, going back for more. Sophie had a board book that Emma apparently wanted and we can only surmise that Emma grabbed it from her and whacked her in the face a few times; we were in the kitchen and the girls in the bedroom right behind us. We heard Sophie cry (not a whiny one) & we saw Emma ("Ike") standing next to her with the evidence (book) in hand. Poor Sophie ("Tina")has a 1 CM gash on her cheek where the book's corner caught her, she also has a red bruise over her eyebrow.

It sounds like Greg and I are just making light of it, trust me we are NOT. Emma's favorite trio of toys went for a time out on top of the refrigerator and Emma was sent to her room for 5 minutes. We also spoke to her about it once things calmed down. However, what is done is done now and if you can not laugh about raising children then you are probably going to cry!

Friday's Family Lunch

I had a doctor's appointment on Friday morning so Greg worked from home for the first half of the day. The girls and I decided to drive him back to work and we stopped at Red Robin for lunch on the way to the office. We had "birthday coupons" for free meals for both Emma and Greg so we couldn't pass up eating there! I met another "China Mom" there, she actually approached our table and introduced herself. She was nice and her daughter was too cute! We are hoping to see her again for a future play date this summer....it was just nice to meet somebody who doesn't say stupid things about your family. :)

*Pre-lunch pose at home.*

*Notice that they BOTH have a Pooh!* *Daddy with his two biggest fans*
*Sophie loves to color in restaurants!*
*Emma was pouting because............*
*We told her that she could NOT ride this horse!* :)
